We wanted to capture this unique moment in time and tell the story of key music venues across the country and the individuals behind them.
In the face of COVID-19, music venues across the country were forced to shutter. An unprecedented moment in music’s history—a time when live performances ceased everywhere—a team of photographers, producers, designers, and collaborators came together to document this collective experience and showcase the individuals behind venues across North America. Now, as we continue to move out of the pandemic, Bring Music Home is a road map to music experiences across the country and the most comprehensive documentation of live music venues and their teams during an unprecedented time in history.
BRING MUSIC HOME (BMH) was co-founded as an independent project by Amber Mundinger, Tamara Deike, and Kevin W Condon with the support and collaboration of colleagues across music and entertainment. The project has captured iconic music venues and the personalities behind them in more than 30+ cities.
The focus was to capture the essence of each place and to feature owners, longstanding staff, artists, and the unique character of each location. The resulting compilation is a beautiful coffee table book of portraits, interviews, and time capsule in history.
Hundreds of thousands of venue workers (bar staff, sound technicians, security) have been displaced due to the pandemic. A portion of the proceeds benefit NIVA (National Independent Venue Association).
